WHRT is a student run radio station that serves the students of Sacred Heart University. We mix the best in new music and talk with favorites of the past. Those involved with the station can expect a fun environment that offers real world challenges applicable to any career path.
We invite students from any major to join us for our weekly meeting and try your hand at broadcasting or contribute behind the scenes.

Students and members of the Sacred Heart University faculty turn into ‘news junkies’ each Thursday between 1 and 3 P.M. on the WHRT Radio program of the same name. Greg Golda, a clinical instructor with the Department of Media Studies and Digital Culture, hosts the program each week.

During summer vacation, while many students relaxed on the beach and enjoyed down time with friends, the members of WHRT student radio station were hard at work. The station is located in the booth across from Flik, which was recently renovated and can be viewed through the window in main hallway. Gregory Golda, clinical instructor of media studies, has taken on the role of faculty advisor in order to organize the station's operations.
"Every year the club is given a budget but it was never really put into use. The club was disorganized and only had three active DJs. They asked me to come in as a faculty advisor and reorganize everything," said Golda.

When he enters a room, people notice. It's not because he's loud or rambunctious. It's not because he is wearing bright colors or light is emitting from him.
Eugene Stacy, a senior at Sacred Heart, often draws stares because he is in a wheelchair; but that doesn't bother him. "If I'm looked at different because of my wheelchair, I can't see it anyway," said Stacy who is legally blind. Stacy is a prime example of someone who has challenged and overcome those social barriers.
